Today, I visited a certain family and their story really touched me. They live around 4kms from where I live in Eldoret.
Mary Gorret Aoko was born in 2008 and is from a very poor background and therefore at high risk. She's the youngest in a family of 6.
-Their first born never went to school and is married
-Second born dropped out of school in grade 3
-The 3rd dropped out in grade 8
- The 4th born was very lucky to be sponsored by Equity Bank and has just completed form 4
- The 5th is on the street
- The 6th, who is Mary, wants to join high school.
Her mother had been married to a man who never really cared so much about her and the children (I guess he never really loved the woman). He later threw them out in the streets when she was pregnant with Mary, along with the other children, with nowhere to go. They moved from house to house seeking a place to stay. A good lady offered them food and basic needs, but they are still struggling with daily living. They are really struggling, and the mother is worried that Mary might end up on the streets like the other girl. Mary is supposed to report to form 1 yet they have no possible way, please help her to acquire a sponsorship!
