Mercy
After Mercy’s parents separated, she was sent to live with her older sister and brother-in-law, while her younger sister, Ruth, remained with their mother. Tragically, their mother began seeking men to pay for the "marriage" of her daughters as soon as they turned 12. Mercy and Ruth were determined to escape this fate.
Life with her sister offered no safety, however, as Mercy’s brother-in-law began relentlessly harassing her for sex, attempting to bribe her with money. Mercy bravely refused his advances and eventually confided in our local advocate Farida. She has since found sanctuary with Farida. While Mercy is not currently enrolled in school, we are deeply grateful for the Lord’s protection over her and Ruth. We are now praying for a sponsor to come alongside Mercy, helping her gain the life skills she needs to build a self-sufficient future.
