Sulanbeni lives in Dimapur, India, and is the eldest daughter of Ekonthug and Abeni. Ekonthung is a drug addict who cannot hold down a job, and Abeni tries to earn enough money as a day laborer to support her family and send her daughters to school.
This year Sulanbeni has been promoted to class ten, but the family does not have money to send her and her sister, Lorini (also in Hope4Angels), to school, so they are planning to discontinue their education.
